Online Digital Manufacturing & Leadership CPD TRAINING SUPPORT

Helping manufacturing SMEs navigate the digital transformation journey.

Are you looking to implement digital technology into your business processes but don’t know where to begin?

The Online Digital Manufacturing & Leadership CPD Programme (DML-CPD) will provide SMEs across all manufacturing sectors with skills training in the areas of digital manufacturing and leadership. The project supports those SMEs through the digital transformation journey, from awareness to practical implementation of digital manufacturing technologies and concepts.

As we navigate into an uncertain future, the need for Scottish SMEs to improve their manufacturing capabilities has never been greater. The support available from this AMCF project will help your organisation to:

  • Manage and exploit digital disruption
  • Advance and upskill the workforce
  • Become more efficient and productive
  • Make better informed technology investments

This support is available for free to Scottish SMEs across all manufacturing sectors with skills training in the areas of digital manufacturing and leadership. Online training courses, from awareness level to practical implementation of digital manufacturing technologies and concepts. The following are some of the areas that will be covered by this project:

  • Introduction to Digital Manufacturing
  • Internet of Things
  • Additive Manufacturing
  • Circular Economy
  • emanufacturing
  • Robotics
  • Cyber Security
  • Extended Reality

SMEs will also benefit from skills diagnostic support, which will be used to:

  • Create bespoke organisational learning tracks by prioritising training opportunities
  • Identify additional support mechanisms across the University of Strathclyde and the National Manufacturing Institute Scotland (NMIS).

The project is led by the Department of Design Manufacturing and Engineering Management at the University of Strathclyde and the materials produced will be delivered through the Manufacturing Skills Academy in the National Manufacturing Institute Scotland (NMIS).

Key Contacts

Jose Hernandez is the Project Lead for the DML-CPD project. He is responsible for developing the strategy, portfolio of CPD products and services that will be offered alongside industrial engagement. 

His research interest are Product Development, Product Optimisation, Lean Design, Lean Manufacturing, Lean Six Sigma, Design for Six Sigma and Process & Operational Excellence.
